Connectivism Article

So I finished reading the Connectivism article by Seimens and I found the idea of connectivism to be a good philosophy on how the process of learning has to constantly evolve in our technology driven society. I found that the article explained the different -isms pretty good attempting to make them easy to understand with a good mixture of technical jargon and easy to understand metaphors for those who may not have heard of these philosophies before. I found that the concept of Connectivism as a whole was a good methodology to try and explain how to increase ones knowledge in a consistently changing society where what you need to know is a google search away. I especially found that his last paragraph hit the nail on the head when he said that “The field of education has been slow to recognize both the impact of new learning tools and the environmental changes in what it means to learn.” Also that the  goal of Connectivism is to “provides insight into learning skills and tasks needed for learners to flourish in a digital era.” The  field of education needs to evolve to stay relevant and useful in today’s world.
