Here is the paper TO PHOTO OR NOT TO PHOTO? To Photo or Not To Photo

This was a great paper! I think it is very thought provoking. Two things came to mind. One is cultural practice. While this may fall under intellectual property some cultures or religions have specific ideas or beliefs that do not allow for photos. This leads to my second thought “the Sacred” while we use social media to share, to some extent people do it with their own self interest in mind. And some people or things get caught in the middle. A great example of this was when I went to a basilica in Venice. There was a woman leading a tour who reprimanded me for trying to take a pic in front of a sign that said no photos. On the same sign it said to be quiet and there are to be no groups lead by tour (especially by loud authoritarian leaders) guided through the space. My point is that she was serving her own self interest. It is hard to decide what is right or wrong for an institution and to realize what is good for one goose is not always good for the gander. Museums and institutions to evaluate policies based on their collection and visitation.
