    Midterm Badges

Here are the midterm badges everyone earned. Exceptional work. Many of you did not post the work to the blog, which was fine. But upon reading, viewing and interacting with it I think not sharing is a diservice to each other. Perhaps these could be collected as a sidebar resource. There is a The Aggregator or Collaborative Teammate badge in that task if someone wants to take it on. Contact me.

    Some updates

    1. Everyone has earned a midterm badge. Thank you, great work! I will be posting a public list of the badges earned, adding them to your sashes and providing some feedback soon. I am a bit behind from my work trip to London.

    2. I also will have a new round of non-midterm badges that will post early next week.

    3. I have been following the mobile conversations around the articles and the field trips. Wow, you all are really doing some great sharing and thinking. A real vibrant conversation. As the Dungeon Master it is fascinating to see views evolve and solidify.

    4. We will definitely spend some time discussing mobiles again Monday but now in context of the theoretical (the articles and online discussion) and the practical (your trips and discussion). It would be helpful to ensure that we have an active, engaging and multi-voiced conversation if you revisit/skim the blog conversations and find some interesting or salient points/ideas from the discussion.

Course details for remainder of semester

Below I have mapped out the remainder of the course including due dates. Thanks to Erin and Melanie O for updating and clarifying on some details. Melanie did an excellent job of collecting the museums you can choose from for mobile app assignment.

One note, I know we had discussed doing final session on 12/19 but I have decided to eliminate that and due final session on 12/12 because I have been so impressed with the level of online interaction. I will keep course open for assignment completion until 12/19.

Update on second half of course

Final project paragraph proposals are due 11/3 to Chris via email. These are projects that explore a course theme in either written, multi-media or project form. Can be group or individual. Groups need only submit one paragraph for team. Chris will feedback at this time if he sees a problem or needs to suggest correction, or if ask a direct question.

    Mobile In Museums:

    Due Dates

•Between 10/26 and 11/7 please vist at least two museums with mobile app/web programs. Post a response (written or multi-media) as blog post by 11/7. Please reflect on the experience critically and suggest revisions. See Melanie O’s excellent blog post for details.

    NOTE: No class on 10/31
    NOTE: No class on 11/7

(Note there will be limited assignments the week of 11/7. This is a good chance to catch up on missed assignments and work on related badges to set yourself up for the “A” by having only the final Project badge to earn. Should have at least plan to have three badges in place)

Hi Chris, do you want us to bring in our computers for anymore classes?

      • chrislarry 2:27 pm on October 26, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Erin, that is somewhat undetermined as of yet. Is it a problem to bring them?

Nope, just asking while I was writing things down.
